„Cleaning cloth resplendently put into scene “

Art and cleaning – how do these relate to one another? The group company Freudenberg demonstrates this in its’ new exhibition at the “Alte Wasserturm” (old water tower). On the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the museum for applied arts in Cologne the curator Katrin Bergmann originated the exhibition. It centres around the renowned product of Freudenberg: the Vileda cleaning towel.
(...) Even a utensil for the sanitary facilities is turned into artwork in this exhibition. Under the name “resplendent business” the artist Georg Raab rolls out a length of Vileda instead of paper.
